BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: Ramah Darom’s Tikvah Support Program is a summer experience for campers diagnosed with Neurodevelopmental Disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, Intellectual Disability and Communication Disorder. Tikvah is focused on providing a traditional, immersive, Jewish summer camping experience to Jewish children with disabilities. The program is fully integrated into a community that is steeped in Jewish celebration, learning, and ritual. Campers will benefit from meaningful formal and informal Jewish learning opportunities specifically designed to foster their emerging Jewish identity. Through individualized programming supported by highly-skilled staff, campers in the Tikvah program will build friendships, gain a sense of autonomy, develop independent living skills, learn problem-solving skills, have fun, and grow as members of the Ramah Darom community. The Tikvah program supports approximately 32 campers within Camp Ramah Darom which is home to 800 campers per summer.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: We have a camp for every age and ability level. Our young dancer camps offer exciting activities including ballet, tap, jazz, mime, crafts, activities, music theory, dance history, nutrition, and fun! More serious students can join our Intermediate and Advanced programs which meet four to five days a week with a daily schedule including ballet and Pointe classes (for those who have achieved physical readiness), plus classes in modern, jazz, body conditioning, repertoire, and lecture. We also proudly host adult ballet classes as well as DanceAbility- our unique program designed specifically for students with special needs.

While at camp, riders participate in the following activities: daily riding instruction, sensory trail stations, proper grooming techniques, tacking a horse properly, care of tack, barn chores and crafts. The Horse Show is our culminating event each week.

Established in 1973 on 40 acres of farm and forest in Roswell, High Meadows offers campers a structured recreational program focusing on self improvement, personal responsibility, and environmental respect. In a relaxed, caring, and non-competitive atmosphere, each camper is encouraged to engage in new experiences and social relationships. Each day, we welcome 300 children, from age 4 to 15, to our campus. Bus transportation is available from various locations in the north metro area. Groups are arranged by grade level, and generally have 12 - 15 children with two counselors.
Activities, offered at age-appropriate levels, may include Animal Care, Arts & Crafts, Archery, Swimming, Sports, Canoeing, Traditions, Darkroom Photography, Pony Rides, Ropes, Dance, Drama, Nature, Pioneering, and Woodworking.
Preschoolers participate in a shortened day program with constant nurturing supervision and exploration of our property and activities.
Our oldest campers, rising 5th - 9th graders, exercise responsibility and decision making in developing and following their own class schedule, and by participating in our Knighthood program, which encourages high-level achievement and recognition in each of our activities. BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: Available for both children and adults, these two-week sessions held during the summer help individuals with speech, literacy, and language skills at a variety of levels. Services will be provided by graduate student clinicians under the guidance and supervision of UGA faculty members with all relevant experience, state licensure and national certification in speech-language pathology, early childhood education and special education. To ensure quality of service, program enrollment will be limited.

SPECIAL NEEDS CAMPERS: Camp Wego is a Travel camp serving teens and adult with special needs ages 14-65. We are a small travel special needs camp that travel in the United States and abroad. We are able to provide low staffing ratios, 1 to 4. (1:1 if needed) We have highly credentialed and experienced staff so each individuals needs are met. We add new and innovative travel and activities each year.
Our travel is designed to enhance social, friendship, culture, and other vital life skills that promote independence. Camp Wego helps travelers make new friends while traveling in a safe, fun and educational environment.
We offer high-quality supervised tours for teens and adults with special needs year around. Our travel programs are specialized for individuals with Developmental Disabilities, Autism, Learning Disabilities, ADHD and Asperger's syndrome.

Details: These cabins have a very unique design and offer great versatility! Each building has two identical sides that can be joined or separated by a locking divider door. Each side of the buildings has 2 private rooms separate from the bunk area, ideal for group leaders. Additionally, all bunks are built in pods, making them more private than traditional bunks.
Camp Big Heart has a 24 hour security staff.

Our staff becomes extremely close to each one of the campers in their individual cabins throughout the week.
Campers often become best friends with the other campers in their cabin by the end of the week.

Encourage giving and helpfulness
Every camper is encouraged to help the clean the cabin and tables at mealtimes as their abilities allow.
Many of our campers help each other by opening doors, pushing wheelchairs, and helping each other get ready in the morning.
Relax
Throughout the week, campers enjoy a boat ride, sit back during nightly entertainment, and get a midday rest as a break from the summer sun.
Both campers and their parents and caretakers take a break from their normal routine by letting Camp Big Heart plan all of the fun.
CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: All staff members are thoroughly screened and
trained. Camp Big Heart has a staff of college age
and older adults many of whom are professionals trained in the fields of therapeutic recreation and special education.
CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: It is your responsibility to contact the
appropriate organization to ask for funding and to complete the necessary paperwork.
FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): We have a medical team of nurses, nurse practitioners, and physicians who are experienced with working with our camper population. They work out of our on-site medical lodge and there is always someone on call in the medical lodge.
Our medical staff will store prescribed medications in the medical lodge. Our counselors will bring campers to the medical lodge for their meds as needed.
OTHER CAMP INFO: A reminder that campers are accepted on a first come, first serve basis. Campers must be toilet trained and able to take care of their personal needs with supervision and
minimal assistance.

Campers will be in cabins with their own age group and will
participate in activities with the same group.

SPECIAL NEEDS CAMPERS: STEAM Playworks- 3D Lego Robotics- Planes, Trains, & Automobiles
Our Lego courses are designed with lots of interactive activities, logic building, and robotic programming; this class is no exception. In this class, kids will utilize the LEGO® Education WeDo Set and Software to create robots. This class is great for children who are hands on and like working together in teams.
STEAM Playworks Therapy Session – Mindfulness and Emotional Regulation
This skill group is a Mindfulness based practice that will improve mental, emotional, social and physical health and well-being of young people who take part. It will benefit by reducing stress, anxiety, reactivity, and unwanted behaviors, improve sleep and self-esteem, and bring greater calmness, relaxation, the ability to manage behavior and emotions, self-awareness and empathy. We will practice daily skills using our five senses and other manipulative objects. Participants will have take home practice skills to ensure the most effective results.

STEAM Playworks Therapy Session – Solution-Focused Social Skills
This group works to provide youth with reassuring and solution-focused activities aimed at improving the development and use of appropriate social skills. The goal of group will be to promote youth in developing a better understanding of individual behavior difficulties and learning skills to more effectively cope with situations they encounter. Youth participants will be given opportunities to work on social skills, adaptive functioning (learning to read social cues, regulating behaviors, being patient, being confident, and paying attention in social situations), and learning how to regulate emotions and impulsive behaviors. We will practice this through role-play and goal-directed social peer interactions, where we share experiences with one another and consider appropriate ways to respond to common social situations.

SUMMER CAMP JOBS:
An Instructor is responsible for delivering an amazing learning experience! This includes creating a FUN environment while helping students sharpen their logic skills, think creatively, and learn a new technology. In addition to creating an engaging learning environment, an Instructor is in charge of continuously supervising students, leading games and activities, and maintaining a safe atmosphere while on duty.

BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: There will be lots of fun getting fit and making friends during our one-week long day camps. There will be cooking classes, unique nutrition education, field trips and all kinds of fitness. Camp Divas is for girls and young women between ages 10-15 who have a BMI over 80th percentile. Use the CDC’s online child and teen BMI Calculator.
