BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: The 2021 Jr. Elephant Ambassador Camp! This one-of-a-kind experience includes a one week overnight camp (5 days / 4 nights) located in Hugo, OK, close to Hugo Lake and right next door to the Endangered Ark Foundation, one of the nation's largest private elephant facilities in the United States.
SPECIAL NEEDS CAMPERS: Special needs accomadations will be made for any camper. We will have hands on staff that will assist any needs that need to be met.

CAMP FACILITIES: Our Indoor house sleeps 30 with small group rooms. Each room contains its own trained enthusiastic camp counselor., the facility has an in ground swimming pool (with licensed life-gaurd), Hugo Lake trips (with life-guard) boating, tubing (with life-guard) Activity Barn, and daily access to the endangered ark foundation for educational purposes, Dining area, recreational area.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Campers will become Jr. Elephant Ambassadors: public speaking, science, animal conservation, endangered asian elephant husbandry, arts, leadership, teamwork, competitions.
Participants will have a unique opportunity to learn about one of the world’s most endangered species – the Asian Elephant – up close and in person. In addition to earning their Junior Elephant Ambassador Certification, Campers will also be provided with valuable lessons and enriching activities that will focus on Team Building, Leadership, Recreation Fun!

SPECIAL NEEDS CAMPERS: Camp Wego is a Travel camp serving teens and adult with special needs ages 14-65. We are a small travel special needs camp that travel in the United States and abroad. We are able to provide low staffing ratios, 1 to 4. (1:1 if needed) We have highly credentialed and experienced staff so each individuals needs are met. We add new and innovative travel and activities each year.
Our travel is designed to enhance social, friendship, culture, and other vital life skills that promote independence. Camp Wego helps travelers make new friends while traveling in a safe, fun and educational environment.
We offer high-quality supervised tours for teens and adults with special needs year around. Our travel programs are specialized for individuals with Developmental Disabilities, Autism, Learning Disabilities, ADHD and Asperger's syndrome.
Individuals must be ambulatory and be able to take care of personal hygiene needs.

OTHER CAMP INFO: AstroBear Summer Camp at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church for Ages 5-17 offers opportunities for the campers to learn, get creative and create wonderful memories in a safe learning environment. BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: Camp Tumbleweed is a top quality summer day camp for teenagers and young adults with disabilities in the Oklahoma City area, ages 14-21. Campers are required to bring a packed lunch every day.
SPECIAL NEEDS CAMPERS: Camp Tumbleweed is a day camp for youth with disabilities, ages 14 through 21 years old, in the OKC and surrounding metro area. It combines the traditional elements of a camp – field trips, crafts, and outdoor activities - with opportunities to develop independence and advocacy skills and start to learn about potential job opportunities after high school. Camp is located at the Dale Rogers Training Center campus - 2501 N. Utah Ave. in Oklahoma City. Camp supervisors and staff are experienced in the field of disabilities and currently work in our Transition School-to-Work Program.

OTHER CAMP INFO: Camp provides a planned schedule of recreational, motivational, educational and social activities that include trips to local attractions such as the OKC Zoo, Sam Noble Natural History Museum, movie theaters, and other community outings and activities. There are additional fees for admission into many of these activities. We attempt to limit activity fees to no more than $10.00 per week.
