CAMPER AGES: 8 - 13

TYPE OF CAMP: Day Camp.

CAMPER GENDER(S): All Girl Campers.

BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: EGEAR is a day camp that uses art, literature, and toys to explore engineering concepts, particularly spatial reasoning and computational thinking. We center activities around building, coding, and play.

SPECIAL NEEDS CAMPERS: We hope to welcome and provide access to any girl who wants to join us. If your child has special needs, please call so we know what your child's needs are, and we can make sure appropriate accommodations are available.

CAMP INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES OFFERED:
Fine Arts/Crafts, Computers, Math, Science, Technology, Academics, and more. STEAM

CAMP LOCATION: We are located in Northwest Indiana at Valparaiso University. While at camp, participants will get opportunities to visit our engineering labs, art museum, solar energy research facility, and more.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: We typically offer sessions for 2-3rd grade girls, 4-5th grade girls, and we have recently added additional sessions for 6-8th grade girls. Additional sessions may be added based on demand, so check back often, and if e-mail egear[AT]valpo.edu to request alternative session dates or themes!

We mostly play, but with really fun toys and games that link to development of spatial and computational reasoning. We also aim to develop confidence in building and hands-on construction activities.
