CAMPER AGES: 6-15
TYPE OF CAMP: Overnight/Sleepaway. Day Camp. Day and overnight options! Day camp hours: 8:30am - 4:30pm
CAMPER GENDER(S): Coed Campers.
BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: With both day and sleepaway boarding options, Oakland’s five-week summer program offers a healthy mix of academic support and traditional camp fun. Students ages 6-15 (9-15 for boarding), with or without learning difficulties, enjoy small class sizes and 1:1 instruction along with recreational activities like horseback riding, swimming, archery, arts, and more.
SPECIAL NEEDS CAMPERS: Our specialized summer camp is perfect for children with learning and attention issues, such as Dyslexia and ADHD, as well as those who want to sharpen skills or focus on a particular academic area of interest. With daily 1:1 instruction and individualized learning, Oakland School’s summer camp will help your child develop the confidence they need to return to school in the fall.

Fine Arts/Crafts, Basketball, Football, Soccer, Horses/Equestrian, Swimming, Team Sports, Math, Science, Academics, and more. English Or Phonics Classes, Upward Lift Reading Program
CAMP LOCATION: Set on 450 acres and located just outside of Charlottesville, VA, Oakland School’s five-week summer camp offers the perfect balance of academic enrichment and traditional summer fun!
CAMP FACILITIES: We have dormitories for students who choose the overnight option, an outdoor pool, a recreation/dining hall, outdoor basketball courts, a sports field, classrooms, a 16-stall barn, and more.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Oakland School is a small, co-ed day school and day and sleepaway camp for young children, ages 6-15 (9-15 for boarding) who need help reaching their academic potential. This includes those who may have learning differences, organizational and study skills difficulties, or gifted child have a special area of interest they wish to hone. Thanks to a success-oriented environment and time-tested methods, hundreds of students have successfully completed their time at Oakland and returned to mainstream education (Part of Oakland's mission) since the school's founding in 1950.
Oakland School is located on the site of a former farm with 450 acres of rolling countryside in central Virginia, just eleven miles east of beautiful Charlottesville. Oakland's peaceful country setting and nurturing environment allow for a truly remarkable learning and lifelong friendships to occur.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: During the rest of the year, Oakland School operates as a co-ed day school for bright young children, ages 7-15, including those who may have learning differences, or organizational and study skills difficulties.
